Past self...
I see a lot of young people wanting to move out of home
This is what I would tell my past self if I ever could, but since that's not possible I'll share it with you..
I understand this need for your own space/freedom
But honestly is it that important at this point?
Do we need to listen to society's pressure of what should be the age to leave the nest?
Is it a requirement to move out when it could be the ideal situation looking from a different point of view
Do you still have your freedom to come and go if you please, do you have a house key & the independence to use it freely?
Meals cooked, washing done, house cleaned, maybe?
Now I'm not saying you should take advantage of your parents in anyway, you can definitely contribute financially & physically...you could cook for the family one or two nights a week, you could help clean bathrooms etc
why don't you go do the weekly food shopping as you would be if living out of home...it's good practice & you're olds would love it...trust me haha.
But you know sharing with friends will have it's own rules & boundaries too so you might find it's not such a big hardship staying at home
have you truly thought of your future
Renting, even with mates these days is so expensive & such a money waster
If you want my advice/opinion you will stay at home as long as you can & save that deposit with every spare cent you have
Perhaps make a plan to be in your own home by say???
Age 25-ish maybe
Honestly if there is no hardship & no real rush, your parents don't abuse you, sure we can be annoying at times but then so can you
I would say put your money into your own place...not paying someone else mortgage..it could just be a little unit or something, your stepping stone to the future
If you find yourself a partner & want to go into a place together, well you rent it out or sell it & you have yourself a nice little nest egg
I understand it's something most young people don't want to think about yet as your having fun, partying it up, but honestly be money smart now, make a plan at least to set yourself up, have some direction & your future will be a lot brighter for it :)
